Ella Emhoff

Ella Emhoff is a multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer known for her innovative approach to knitwear and textiles. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Emhoff blends traditional craft techniques with contemporary themes, often exploring the complexities of childhood and adolescence through her work. Her artistry extends beyond fashion to include ceramics, paintings, and installations, with a focus on vibrant colors and playful, introspective imagery.

Emhoff gained national attention following her appearance at the U.S. presidential inauguration, which led to a modeling contract with IMG Models Worldwide and runway appearances for brands such as Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Coach, and Proenza Schouler. She founded Soft Hands, Inc., a company dedicated to fashion, design, creative consulting, and event hosting. Emhoff has collaborated on a collection with Batsheva and launched her own knitwear line, as well as presented the pop-up "Ella Emhoff Likes to Knit" at New York Fashion Week and exhibited her knit paintings in galleries.

Emhoff is recognized for her commitment to sustainability and community-building within the fashion industry. She established the Soft Hands Knitting Club to foster in-person connections and share her passion for knitting, and she frequently hosts classes and creative workshops. Emhoff uses her platform to promote creativity, inclusivity, and the therapeutic power of craft in the fashion and textile arts community.
