Edwina Findley

Edwina Findley is an award-winning film, television, and theater actress. She made her primetime debut as Tosha Mitchell on HBO’s hit TV series "The Wire," followed by roles in such popular shows as "Fear The Walking Dead," "Black Lightning," "Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong," "VEEP," "Chicago Med," HBO’s "Treme," and "Shots Fired" from "The Woman King" director Gina Prince Bythewood.

Her more recent credits include starring opposite Oscar-nominee Toni Collette in Amazon’s global thriller, "The Power" and in AMC+’s suspense thriller "Rogue Agent." She also stars in Shonda Rhimes’ highly-anticipated Netflix series "The Residence," set in the White House.

A vibrant and versatile actress, Findley garnered critics’ attention for her role as Rosie in director Ava Duvernay’s Sundance award-winning feature "Middle of Nowhere," and earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her role as Melva Neddy in Jake Mahaffy’s "Free In Deed." Comedically, Findley gave a hilarious turn as Kevin Hart’s wife, Rita, in the Warner Bros’ hit comedy "Get Hard with Will Ferrell" and as Dee in HBO’s "VEEP."

Theatrically, Findley has performed at some of the nation’s finest New York and regional theaters, including Juilliard, The Kennedy Center, Atlantic Theatre Company, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Center Theatre Group, Baltimore Centerstage, Cleveland Playhouse, and many more. She was nominated for an NAACP theater award for "Eclipsed," written by Black Panther’s Danai Gurira, and starred in period drama "Gee’s Bend," for which she was nominated for a Barrymore Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress.

Findley studied theater and music at the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, and is an alumna of New York University’s (NYU) prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. While at NYU, she was honored with a variety of awards, including the Outstanding Artist and Scholar Award, Founder’s Day Award, and Dean’s List. Findley continued her postgraduate studies at University of California Los Angeles, and is a member of the Television Academy, Screen Actors Guild, and Film Independent.

Findley and her husband Kelvin Dickerson are the co-founders of the AbundantLifeU, a national nonprofit organization that empowers and equips young adults, artists, and leaders to discover their purpose and change the world. The pair have been featured in the New York Times, Oprah, Essence, OWN’s "Black Love," and more.

With warmth, humor, inspiration, and authenticity, Findley has presented hundreds of workshops, seminars, and keynote addresses on speaking topics which include women’s empowerment, acting and entertainment, vision and goal setting, faith and spirituality, entrepreneurship, motherhood, marriage, soul care, and manifestation. Her book, "The World is Waiting for You," to be published in the fall of 2025, guides readers along the incredible path of discovering and fulfilling their divine purpose.
