Eddie Irvine

Eddie Irvine is a former Formula One racing driver from Northern Ireland, recognized for a decade-long career in international motorsport. Irvine began his motorsport journey in the Formula Ford Championship at age 17, progressing to Formula Three and Formula 3000. He made his Formula One debut with Jordan Grand Prix, where his aggressive driving style and involvement in both on- and off-track incidents drew attention. Notably, during his debut race, Irvine unlapped himself, leading to a confrontation with Ayrton Senna.

Irvine joined Ferrari to support Michael Schumacher's championship efforts and remained with the team for four years. During his tenure, he finished fourth overall in the drivers' standings and achieved 22 podium finishes. Irvine's career reached its peak when he assumed the role of lead driver after Schumacher's mid-season injury. That year, he secured victories in Melbourne, Austria, Germany, and Malaysia. Despite entering the final race leading Mika Häkkinen by four points, Irvine finished as runner-up in the championship. He received the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy, awarded to the most successful British or Commonwealth driver in Formula One, and was named Autosport's British Competition Driver of the Year.

Following his time at Ferrari, Irvine joined Jaguar Racing for three seasons before retiring from Formula One with four wins, 26 podiums, and 191 points. Outside Formula One, he competed at Le Mans, finishing fourth and second in consecutive years. After retiring from racing, Irvine pursued interests in real estate investment, executive film production, and television. His primary business focus is on property development and custom home building through his company Casa Ischia, which serves a high-net-worth clientele.
