Dylan Larkin

Dylan Larkin, recognized as the captain for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL), embarked on his professional journey being the 15th overall draft by the Red Wings in the 2014 NHL entry draft. His hockey career began at the University of Michigan, where he garnered several accolades such as Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team selection, All-Big Ten First Team, and Second Team All-American. Forsaking his final three seasons at the University of Michigan, he signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings on May 21, 2015.

Larkin's professional debut was for the Grand Rapids Griffins, the AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, on May 24, 2015, and he scored his first professional goal the very next day. His commendable performance led to him being named the NHL Rookie of the Month for November 2015. A significant moment was when he set the NHL record for fastest skater at the NHL All-Star Game SuperSkills Competition in 2016 with a time of 13.172 seconds. He was recognized as the 2016 Detroit Red Wings Rookie of the Year by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association, and led the team in scoring during the 2017–18 season.

On January 13, 2021, Larkin was appointed as team captain of the Detroit Red Wings, a position he continues to hold. His first career hat-trick was recorded on December 18, 2021. In addition to being named to the 2023 National Hockey League All-Star Game, Larkin contributed to the Atlantic Division winning its first 3-on-3 title. On March 1, 2023, he signed an eight-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings. He also proudly represented the United States in multiple international competitions, including the World Junior Championships, the World Championships, and won an Olympic Gold medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics with Team USA.
