Dr. Tye Caldwell is a pioneering entrepreneur, executive coach, and celebrity master barber-stylist who co-founded ShearShare, scaling it to 1,017 cities and supporting over 71,000 small businesses. A thought leader and the first Black male member-elect of the Professional Beauty Association’s Advisory Council, he is also the best-selling author of Mentored by Failure. Recognized as a Pitchbook Black Founder to Watch and Power 100 Business Leader of Color, he is among the 1% of African-Americans holding a U.S. patent. Dr. Tye speaks globally on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship while mentoring the next generation of business leaders.
Dr. Caldwell’s expertise in business and beauty spans decades. Before launching ShearShare, he owned and operated an award-winning salon in Dallas, Texas, where he saw firsthand the need for more flexible workspace solutions in the industry. His experience inspired the creation of ShearShare, the first space-as-a-service platform designed for beauty professionals.
A thought leader and educator, Dr. Caldwell is the first African-American male member-elect to the Professional Beauty Association’s Advisory Council and is a frequent guest lecturer at barber colleges and hairstyling institutes around the globe. His #1 best-selling book, "Mentored by Failure: A 5-Point Guide to Long-Term Success in the Beauty & Style Industry," is often used for continuing education curriculum.
