Dr. Tana M. Session

Dr. Tana M. Session is a consultant, international speaker, author, and certified executive-level performance strategist with a career in human resources, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Session was born into the New York City foster care system and, after reuniting with her biological family, built a career in human resources, advancing from administrative assistant to vice president of human resources within seven years. She draws on her experiences with workplace discrimination and inequality to inform her consulting and public speaking work, focusing on leadership development, cultural transformation, and workplace equity.

Session is the CEO and founder of TanaMSession.com, a certified Women Minority Business Enterprise, and has more than 30 years of experience in human resources. She specializes in cultural engineering, facilitated experiences, and leadership and organizational development, including a decade as the top human resources executive for domestic and international organizations. Her clients include technology startups, fast-growth companies, and major organizations such as McDonald's, Interscope Geffen A&M Records, Spotify, the Department of Health & Human Services, and NASA, as well as other multinational for-profit, nonprofit, and government agencies. Session holds PHR, GPHR, and SHRM-SCP certifications, along with an ICF-approved executive performance coaching certification.

Session is the author of several books on career development and workplace equity, including "Inside the Revolving Door: Chronicles From the Human Resources Department," the best-seller "Get Your Career Life in Order," and "The Little Book of Motivation & Inspiration – Volume I." Her book "Working While Black: A Woman's Guide to Stop Being the Best Kept Secret" received the NYC Big Book Award and addresses challenges faced by Black women in the workplace, offering strategies for career advancement and entrepreneurship.
