Dr. Myron Rolle

Dr. Myron L. Rolle is a pediatric neurosurgeon, former National Football League (NFL) player, Rhodes Scholar, author, and global health advocate whose extraordinary career bridges elite athletics, academic excellence, and medicine. Renowned for his unwavering commitment to service and lifelong learning, he has become an international example of leadership, perseverance, and purpose.

Raised in New Jersey in a family with Bahamian roots, Dr. Rolle was one of the nation's most celebrated high school football recruits before attending Florida State University, where he excelled both on the field and in the classroom. A standout safety for the Seminoles, he earned All-American honors while maintaining an exceptional academic record. In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, becoming one of the few major college football players to receive the honor. He completed a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford before entering the 2010 NFL Draft.

Dr. Rolle was selected by the Tennessee Titans and later spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although his professional football career was brief, it fulfilled a lifelong dream and reinforced the discipline, resilience, and teamwork that would define his next chapter. In 2013, he made the remarkable decision to leave professional football and pursue medicine full time, enrolling at the Florida State University College of Medicine.

After earning his medical degree, Dr. Rolle completed an intensive neurosurgery residency at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. He now serves as a pediatric neurosurgeon at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida, where he specializes in treating children with complex neurological conditions while advancing research and patient care.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Rolle is a passionate advocate for global neurosurgery, working to improve access to specialized neurological care in underserved regions, particularly throughout the Caribbean. Through the Myron L. Rolle Foundation and other philanthropic initiatives, he supports education, health, and wellness programs for children and families while promoting leadership through service. He is also the author of "The 2% Way," a book that shares his philosophy of achieving excellence through small, consistent daily improvements.
