Dr. Michael Greger

Michael Greger, M.D., FACLM, is a physician, author, and speaker specializing in nutrition, food safety, and public health. Greger graduated from Cornell University School of Agriculture and Tufts University School of Medicine and is licensed as a general practitioner with a focus on clinical nutrition. As a founding member and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Greger is recognized for his advocacy of a whole-food, plant-based diet and his opposition to animal-derived food products.

Greger founded NutritionFacts.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing science-based dietary guidance. NutritionFacts.org offers free updates on nutrition research through videos, blogs, podcasts, and infographics, serving as a non-commercial public service with more than 2,000 videos covering healthy eating and plant-based nutrition.

Greger is the author of several New York Times best sellers, including "How Not to Die," "The How Not to Die Cookbook," "How Not to Diet," and "How Not to Age." "How Not to Die," co-written with Gene Stone, presents the health benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet. His other works include "Bird Flu: A Virus of Our Own Hatching" and "Carbophobia: The Scary Truth Behind America's Low Carb Craze." All proceeds from Greger's books and speaking engagements are donated to charity.

In addition to his writing, Greger is a frequent public speaker and media contributor. He has testified before the U.S. Congress, served as an expert witness in the "meat defamation trial" involving Oprah Winfrey, and delivered presentations at TEDx, Google, The World Bank, and the Conference on World Affairs.
