Dr. Kishore G. Kulkarni

Dr. Kishore G. Kulkarni is an economist and educator whose career spans decades of academic service. Kulkarni is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he has taught since 1989. He has also served as an affiliate professor at the University of Colorado in Boulder, the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, Colorado State University, and Colorado School of Mines. Kulkarni earned his doctorate and master's in economics from the University of Pittsburgh, and also holds a master's and bachelor's in economics from the University of Poona (now Savitribai Phule Pune University) in India.

Kulkarni has authored and edited 10 books, including "Principles of Macro-Monetary Economics." His textbooks are used in universities in the United States and India. He has authored or co-authored 160 refereed journal articles and serves as Chief Editor of International Review of Business and Economics. He is also the Editor of Indian Journal of Economics and Business. Kulkarni has held visiting fellowships and research grants from institutions such as the Institute of Humane Studies, the National Institute of Bank Management, the Reserve Bank of India, and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research.

Kulkarni has received international recognition for his teaching, including an Outstanding Teaching Award by the Golden Key International Honor Society. He was selected to teach on the Semester at Sea Program and has delivered lectures and seminars in more than 30 countries. At Metropolitan State University of Denver, he is the only faculty member to receive all five faculty awards: Distinguished Professor, Outstanding Teaching, Outstanding Researcher/Scholar, Distinguished Service to the College, and Extraordinary Service to the College.

Kulkarni's contributions have been recognized by institutions in both the United States and India. He was recognized as the first Distinguished Professor in the College of Business by the Dean at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Federation of Business Disciplines named him an Outstanding Educator, and the GISR Foundation in New Delhi awarded him as an Outstanding Overseas Academician. He also received an award from the Indian Institute of Finance as a Research Professor in Economics and was honored with the Pravasi Ratan award by the Non-Resident Indians Welfare Society of India. Kulkarni's expertise in international trade, monetary economics, and economic development, along with his experience engaging audiences in academic and international settings, positions him as an authoritative voice on economic issues.
