Dr. James A. West

Dr. James Alvin West is a minister, security specialist, educator, and author whose career spans decades of service in both religious and secular communities. He has more than 40 years of professional experience in education as a teacher, extensive service as a senior pastor and minister of several churches across the United States, and significant work in the professional security and personal protection industry. West also serves as an evangelist, missionary, and consultant to several foreign countries.

West's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in speech and drama with minors in religious psychology and public education from the University of Redlands, a Master of Divinity in theology from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School, a certificate in pastoral psychology from the University of Rochester Medical Center, and a Doctorate of Ministry from The Kings Seminary in Van Nuys, California. This combination of theological and psychological training has informed his work as a seminar leader, lecturer, and revivalist. He has contributed as a writer for Christendom Magazine, which has readership in Canada, France, Italy, Ireland, England, and Nigeria.

West has worked as a personal assistant to the attorney general for the State of Georgia and trains individuals in serving and protecting leaders and high-profile figures. Among his achievements, West and his wife, DeEtta, were inducted into the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College. Nationally, West received the National Achievement Award from President Barack Obama and special congressional recognition from Congressman John Lewis.
