Dr. Don Davis

Dr. Don Davis is a keynote speaker, leadership advisor, and strategic consultant who helps organizations build trust, strengthen team cohesion, and lead effectively in high-pressure environments.

A former NFL linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion, Dr. Davis brings a rare combination of championship-level performance, executive leadership experience, and academic insight to the work of building high-performing cultures.

For more than sixteen years, Davis served the members of the National Football League Players Association, ultimately rising to Chief Player Officer, where he helped lead strategy, player engagement, and organizational initiatives impacting more than 1,900 active NFL players across all 32 clubs. In that role, he navigated complex labor negotiations, union governance, and leadership challenges that demanded both strategic discipline and deep relational trust.

These experiences now shape the leadership frameworks he brings to organizations around the world.

Drawing on decades of experience in professional sports, executive leadership, and organizational research, Davis helps leadership teams move beyond leadership theory and implement practical frameworks that strengthen alignment, accountability, and culture.

His work includes the IDA Leadership Assessment, a diagnostic tool designed to help organizations understand how authority, influence, and alignment shape team performance and organizational trust.

Before entering executive leadership, Davis played eleven seasons in the NFL, culminating in two Super Bowl championships with the New England Patriots. Following his playing career, he joined the Patriots coaching staff as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and Team Chaplain, where he began the work of helping leaders navigate the pressures of elite performance and personal identity beyond the game.

Dr. Davis holds a Doctor of Education in Human and Organizational Learning and an MBA from The George Washington University, along with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from the University of Kansas. His doctoral research focused on the transition experiences of NFL players leaving the game, deepening his understanding of identity, leadership, and performance under pressure.

Today, Dr. Davis works with executive teams, organizations, and leaders seeking to strengthen trust, align teams, and build cultures capable of performing under pressure.
