Dr. Amera McCoy

Dr. Amera McCoy is an industrial-organizational psychologist whose work focuses on business psychology, corporate culture, and entrepreneurship. McCoy holds a doctorate in business psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, providing a research-based foundation for her approach to organizational challenges. Before founding her own ventures, she held leadership roles with financial companies, including JPMorgan and CME Group, where she gained corporate experience that informs her consulting philosophy. After more than a decade in the financial industry, McCoy identified racial bias as a significant barrier to career advancement, which led to her commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace.

McCoy is the owner and founder of McCoy Consulting LLC and Minority Business Circle. She established her consulting company to deliver comprehensive business solutions in areas such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance management, leadership assessment, work motivation, ethics, and workplace relationships. Minority Business Circle is an online platform for small business owners, offering access to classes, coaches, connections, and capital providers. The platform supports McCoy's mission to increase generational wealth and job opportunities in urban communities by empowering minority-owned businesses with resources, knowledge, capital, and connections to compete globally.

McCoy combines corporate experience with academic expertise to provide a personalized and scalable approach to business consulting. She is a member of the Forbes Coaches Council and has authored more than 15 articles on company culture, DEI, and employee perspectives for Forbes.com. Her thought leadership includes professional development courses on diversity and inclusion programming, leadership mindset, and entrepreneurship.
