Denise Thomas

Denise Thomas is a communication coach, keynote speaker, and founder and owner of The Effective Communication Coach, LLC. Her consultancy focuses on helping professionals from entry-level to C-suite executives develop effective communication skills to advance their careers and drive innovation in business. With two decades of experience at Fortune 100 companies, Thomas has developed expertise in delivering and receiving messages across language, cultural, and communication-style barriers. She is the author of the book, "The Effective Communication Coach."

Thomas has received recognition for leadership from companies such as Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, PepsiCo, General Electric, and MillerCoors. Her client portfolio includes Associated Bank, GE Healthcare, Kraft Heinz, Northwestern Mutual, Stanley Black & Decker, St. Norbert College, and Thurgood Marshall College Fund. She has provided communication training to professionals worldwide, including in Egypt, China, and Israel, and has contributed her expertise to organizations such as Junior Achievement USA, Feeding America, the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute, and the National Urban League.

Thomas serves as a facilitator at St. Norbert College in the School of Business' Center of Exceptional Leadership and co-hosts the "Truth Be Told" morning talk radio show on The Truth 101.7FM in Milwaukee. She is a certified Hogan Assessment Coach, Center of Exceptional Leadership 360 Feedback Coach, and E-Learning Trainer/Coach. Thomas has delivered keynote addresses at events including the City of Madison's Women's Leadership Series, "Living the Vision: Inclusive, Innovative & Thriving," where she discussed best practices for networking and workplace relationships.

Thomas has received multiple awards from Milwaukee Business Journal, including Woman of Influence and Top 100 Power Brokers. She has also been honored by Milwaukee Magazine's "Women of Distinction," BizStarts' "Inspiring Entrepreneur" award, and the Milwaukee Times Newspaper for "Excellence in Business" during the Black Excellence Awards.
