Denise Pines

Denise Pines is a Peabody Award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer, and media professional whose work focuses on social justice, women's health, and storytelling. As co-founder of Women in the Room Productions, Pines advances diversity both in front of and behind the camera. She has served as a creative consultant for PBS and NPR, contributing to several talk shows, including one with a 14-year run. Pines brings more than 20 years of experience in management, sales, and marketing within personality brand management and traditional media. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from San Francisco State University and MBAs from John F. Kennedy University and Stanford University.

Pines is a producer of 13 documentaries, including PBS projects "Birthing Justice" and "PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools." Her documentary "The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause" premiered on PBS and was directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jacoba Atlas, with co-executive producers Tamsen Fadal and Joanne LaMarca Mathisen. The film addresses menopause education and awareness for women worldwide. Pines also produced "The M Factor 2: Before the Pause — Perimenopause," which explores perimenopause as a critical stage in women's health.

Pines advocates for age empowerment and community health and is recognized for her work in midlife wellness for women. She is the founder of WisePause Wellness, a platform for pro-aging health, education, and workplace training, and initiated the FemAging Project, which supports innovation and investment in women's health and technology for those aged 40 and above. As co-founder and CEO of Tea Botanics, Pines leads the development of Hot Flash Tea, a product aimed at addressing menopausal symptoms naturally.

In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Pines serves as president of the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, is a past president of the Medical Board of California, and is a board member of the Federation of State Medical Boards. She has more than 14 years of experience in healthcare governance. Pines' expertise in both media and medicine positions her as a leading voice on women's health issues, and her films have contributed to national conversations on topics related to health, wellness, and representation in media and healthcare governance.
