DeeDee Trotter

DeeDee Trotter is an American sprinter and three-time Olympian recognized for her achievements in track and field. A University of Tennessee Hall of Fame inductee and former NCAA national champion in the 400 meters, Trotter competed in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics, earning two Olympic gold medals in the 4×400 meter relay and a bronze medal in the individual 400 meters. She is a four-time World Champion, contributing to gold medal-winning 4×400 meter relay teams at the World Championships, World Indoor Championships, and World Relay Championships. Trotter is also a three-time 400 meter U.S. Champion.

Trotter's career is marked by her ability to overcome adversity. At the 2008 Olympic Trials, she finished third in the women's 400 meters while running with a broken bone chip in her left leg. After the 2008 Games, she underwent knee surgery that sidelined her for three years, but she returned to competition and delivered a consistent season, culminating in a bronze medal in the women's 400 meters at the London Olympics. In the same Games, she led the United States 4×400 meter relay team to gold, establishing a significant lead as the first leg.

Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Trotter is an advocate for clean sport. She founded "Test Me I'm Clean," a charity focused on combating the use of steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. Trotter was among the first athletes to join the USADA Athlete Ambassador program, speaking to students about the importance of integrity in sports. She concluded her competitive career at the USA Olympic Trials, retiring after a thirteen-year tenure in track and field.

Following her retirement from athletics, Trotter graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a 4.0 GPA, earning valedictorian and top pastry student honors. She served as head pastry chef at a leading golf club in Atlanta and founded Taste of Gold Bakery, which emphasizes quality desserts made from scratch. Her culinary expertise has been featured on television, including an appearance on "Good Day Atlanta."

Trotter now works as a keynote speaker, chef, and entrepreneur. She shares her experiences in professional speaking engagements, focusing on topics such as resilience, performance under pressure, and personal transformation. Trotter's journey from Olympic podiums to the culinary world highlights her commitment to reinvention and the pursuit of excellence in both sports and business.
