Deborah Weinswig

Deborah Weinswig is a retail and technology authority who has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of finance, innovation, and commerce. She is the CEO and founder of Coresight Research, a data-driven global research and advisory firm that supports clients in accelerating innovation and growth within the evolving retail and technology sectors. The company operates offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, India, and the United States. Weinswig’s perspectives and insights are regularly featured in national business publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Barron's, as well as on Bloomberg TV and CNBC.

Before founding Coresight Research, Weinswig developed her expertise in global retail and emerging technology trends through a banking career that included 12 years as head of the Global Staples & Consumer Discretionary Team at Citi Research, along with senior research roles at Bear Stearns and Morgan Stanley. During this period, she was consistently ranked among the top analysts in her field by publications such as Institutional Investor and Business Insider. She later served as the founding managing director of Fung Global Retail and Technology, the research arm and think tank for The Fung Group, a trading and supply chain management company based in Hong Kong. In this capacity, Weinswig identified early-stage companies for partnership, contributed to the launch of The Explorium Innovation Lab in Shanghai, and collaborated with governments to author white papers on topics including the long-term impacts of an aging population and the influence of platforms on shopping patterns.

At Coresight Research, Weinswig has advanced industry thought leadership by conceptualizing and launching the first AI Council for the retail industry, an invitation-only organization that assists brands, retailers, and technology companies in navigating business in the artificial intelligence era. Her team delivers research on the evolving retail landscape, consumer behavior, disruptive retail technologies, and the future of supply chains in sectors such as apparel, beauty, grocery, and furniture. She is also a best-selling author and hosts "The Retaili$tic Podcast," where she discusses key topics shaping commerce with industry leaders.

Weinswig’s influence extends to speaking engagements at more than 200 events worldwide, including Consumer Electronics Show, ShopTalk, World Retail Congress, NRF, ICSC, Money 20/20, Retail Innovation Conference & Expo, and Groceryshop. Weinswig serves on the advisory board of World Retail Congress, several accelerators, and the boards of directors for Primaris Canada, GUESS?, Inc., Xcel Brands, Inc., KIABI, American Apparel & Footwear Association, YPO, Goodwill Industries New York/New Jersey, and Street Soccer USA. She founded RetailersUnited, a nonprofit supporting SME retailers and fashion brands. Weinswig is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
