Deborah Berebichez

Deborah Berebichez is a Mexican-American physicist, data scientist, and science communicator known for her work at the intersection of advanced analytics, education, and public engagement. Raised in Mexico City, she developed an early fascination with understanding how the world works, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in physics—a path where she would become a trailblazer for women and underrepresented communities in STEM.

Berebichez earned her PhD in physics from Stanford University, becoming the first Mexican woman to do so in the field. Her academic work focused on applied physics, including optics and electromagnetic theory, and she later expanded her expertise into data science, machine learning, and risk analytics. Over the course of her career, she has held roles in both academia and industry, applying complex modeling techniques to solve real-world problems in finance, technology, and business strategy.
