DeWanna Bonner

DeWanna Bonner is an American-Macedonian athlete known for her extensive career in professional basketball. Currently a player for the Phoenix Mercury in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), her journey in the sport has been marked by significant accomplishments. Bonner has been an integral part of two WNBA championship-winning teams in 2009 and 2014. Additionally, she has been recognized as a WNBA All-Star six times in 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024. Her consistent performance has also earned her a place on the All-WNBA First Team in 2015 and the All-WNBA Second Team in 2020.

Her contributions to the game have not been limited to the regular season. Bonner's potency off the bench led to her being awarded the WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year title three times consecutively from 2009 to 2011. Her rookie year was marked by her inclusion in the WNBA All-Rookie Team. Beyond the WNBA, Bonner has expanded her horizons by playing internationally during the WNBA offseason, with stints in the Czech Republic, Spain, and Russia. In May 2025, she added another feather to her cap, becoming the third all-time leading scorer in WNBA history.

Bonner's grounding in the sport began at Auburn University, where she maintained a strong average of 17.2 points per game throughout her college career. Despite taking a break during the 2017 season due to pregnancy, she has maintained a career average of 14.9 points per game over her 15-year WNBA tenure.
