DeMarcus Ware

DeMarcus Ware is recognized as one of the leading pass rushers in National Football League history, earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A graduate of Troy University, Ware was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and finished as the program's all-time leader in tackles for loss. He entered the NFL as a first-round pick, selected 11th overall by the Dallas Cowboys, becoming the first player from Troy University and the Sun Belt Conference to be chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Ware spent nine seasons with the Cowboys, where he led the league in sacks twice and earned seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections and four first-team All-Pro honors. He led the NFL with 20 sacks and 15.5 sacks in separate seasons, was named NFC Defensive Player of the Year, and became the first recipient of the professional Butkus Award. Ware is the second fastest player to reach 100 sacks and holds the Cowboys' records for career sacks, multiple-sack games, and forced fumbles.

After his tenure with Dallas, Ware joined the Denver Broncos, where he started at weakside linebacker in the team's Super Bowl 50 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He recorded three solo tackles, two assists, two sacks, and four quarterback hits in the championship game. Ware was selected to nine Pro Bowls, named first-team All-Pro four times, and is a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 2000s. His career total of 138.5 sacks ranks him among the top 10 in NFL history.

Following his retirement, Ware remained active in the football community, serving as a pass-rush consultant for the Broncos and being inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. He continues to support the Dallas-Fort Worth community through charitable work, focusing on organizations that assist children facing abuse, neglect, homelessness, and hunger, including Jonathan's Place. Ware is also a member of the Dallas Cowboys Alumni Association. His career reflects a combination of athletic achievement, leadership, and community engagement, establishing him as a prominent figure in professional football.
