David Trulio

David Trulio is the president and chief executive officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, the sole organization established by President Reagan to advance his legacy and principles. In this role, Trulio leads a non-partisan institution based in Simi Valley, California, with a presence in Washington, DC. The foundation delivers public affairs programming, policy forums, and educational initiatives, while also sustaining the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the most visited presidential library in the United States.

Trulio has held leadership roles across government, media, and the defense sector. Before joining the foundation, he served as managing editor and head of strategy and editorial operations at FOX News Digital, overseeing a major news platform. His public service includes senior positions at the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the Department of Defense, where he was senior advisor and chief of staff to the under secretary of defense for policy and executive director of the Defense Policy Board. Trulio’s private sector experience includes executive positions at Lockheed Martin International and Raytheon, focusing on business development and strategy.

A life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trulio holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a JD from Columbia Law School, and a BA with honors from Princeton University. He has received the Export-Import Bank Medal and the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. Trulio’s expertise includes public policy, strategic communications, and organizational leadership, with experience in public speaking and media engagement in civic engagement and national dialogue.
