David Letterman

David Letterman is a comedian, writer, producer, and talk show host recognized for his significant impact on American television and the evolution of late-night entertainment. Letterman hosted late-night television talk shows for 33 years, beginning with the debut of "Late Night with David Letterman" on NBC and concluding with "Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS. In total, he hosted 6,080 episodes of "Late Night" and "Late Show," surpassing Johnny Carson as the longest-serving late-night talk show host in American television history.

Letterman's career began as a stand-up comedian before he launched his own NBC program. "Late Night with David Letterman" became known for its ironic and offbeat humor, featuring top-10 lists, comedic exchanges with bandleader Paul Shaffer, skits such as Stupid Pet Tricks, and segments involving ordinary people.
