David Hornsby

David Hornsby is an actor, screenwriter, and producer known for his work in television and film. After attending Carnegie Mellon University, Hornsby moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Early in his career, he appeared in films such as "Pearl Harbor" and "Minority Report." He also had an extended arc in the drama "Six Feet Under," followed by co-starring roles in series including "The Mullets" and "Jake in Progress."

Hornsby later took on a film role as a war photographer in Clint Eastwood's "Flags of Our Fathers" and appeared in an episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Initially cast as Father Matthew Mara, known as Rickety Cricket, Hornsby wrote a spec script for the series and became part of the show's core writing and production staff. He is recognized for his recurring role as Matthew Mara on the FX comedy series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," where he also serves as a writer and producer. Hornsby has contributed to the show's long-running comedic storylines and character development.

In addition to his work on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," Hornsby created the sitcom adaptation of the book "How to Be a Gentleman" for CBS and held a regular role on the NBC series "Good Girls." He is also known for his work on the Apple TV+ comedy series "Mythic Quest," where he plays a recurring role, highlighting his experience in both comedic and dramatic television production.

Hornsby expanded his creative portfolio by co-writing the book for "The Lost Boys: A New Musical," based on the cult classic film. The musical features music and lyrics by The Rescues and a book by Hornsby and Chris Hoch. The production opened at the Palace Theatre on Broadway, and Hornsby received a Tony nomination for Best Book of a Musical.
