David Begnaud

David Begnaud is an American television journalist known for his work in broadcast news and investigative reporting. Begnaud began his journalism career at KLFY-TV as a high school reporter in Louisiana, later becoming a full-time reporter and weekend anchor. While earning a bachelor's degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he anchored weekend editions of Eyewitness News. After graduation, Begnaud worked at KSLA in Shreveport, KOVR in Sacramento, and KTLA in Los Angeles. Before joining CBS News, he created and reported for "Newsbreaker" at ORA-TV, a social media platform focused on current events and breaking news, and contributed to "Entertainment Tonight."

Begnaud serves as a CBS News contributor and previously held the role of lead national correspondent for "CBS Mornings" in New York City. His reporting appears across CBS News broadcasts and platforms, including "CBS Evening News," "48 Hours," "CBS Sunday Morning," and CBS News 24/7. Begnaud has covered major news stories such as the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, and the earthquake in Ecuador.
