Darshak Sanghavi

Dr. Darshak Sanghavi is a physician, health policy leader, and innovator serving as program manager for resilient systems at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, Sanghavi leads initiatives such as the HEROES program, which aims to improve preventative care incentives and population health outcomes through scalable models. His work at ARPA-H follows previous roles including chief medical officer at Babylon, where he oversaw operations for a digital-first healthcare provider serving more than 24 million people, and national chief medical officer for UnitedHealthcare and OptumLabs, the largest U.S. commercial Medicare program.

Sanghavi's experience spans clinical practice, government, and academia. He has directed healthcare reform efforts as a group director at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Innovation Center and as managing director at the Brookings Institution Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform. A board-certified pediatric cardiologist, Sanghavi has served as chief of pediatric cardiology at UMass Medical School and as a U.S. Indian Health Service pediatrician. He holds a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed advanced training at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Sanghavi is the author of the book "A Map of the Child: A Pediatrician’s Tour of the Body," recognized as a top health book by Wall Street Journal.
