Dara Starr Tucker

Dara Starr Tucker is an American singer, songwriter, social commentator, and satirist whose work spans jazz, soul, gospel, and roots music. Tucker combines her roles as a singer-songwriter and social media commentator to address topics such as cultural and racial equity, human rights, music, and film. She studied international business, German, and mass media communications at both undergraduate and graduate levels, bringing a globally informed perspective to her music and public commentary.

Tucker began her career as a modern soul singer, gaining recognition with her album "Soul Said Yes," which established her as a notable voice in jazz-infused soul. She has released four studio albums—"All Right Now," "Soul Said Yes," "The Sun Season," and "Oklahoma Rain"—along with a limited-release live album. Tucker co-wrote the title track to "Oklahoma," which won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album for singer-songwriter Keb' Mo'. Her album "Dreams of Waking: Music for a Better World" features reimagined classic singer-songwriter and soul compositions from the protest era, presented through a jazz lens.
