Danny Pudi

Danny Pudi is an actor, director, and writer known for his work in television, film, and voice acting. Pudi studied theater at Marquette University and completed the Second City Conservatory Program in Chicago, where he received the inaugural Chris Farley Scholarship, awarded to a student demonstrating creativity and positive use of humor. Before beginning his acting career, he worked as an actuarial recruiter until being cast as Abed in "Community."

Pudi developed his comedic style with the improvisational troupe Second City in Chicago. He gained recognition for his portrayal of film student Abed on the comedy series "Community" on NBC and Yahoo. His performance as Abed Nadir earned him three nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and a nomination for the TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy. The series aired 110 episodes over six seasons and won a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Comedy Series. Pudi was also nominated for five Gold Derby Awards for the show, sharing the Ensemble of the Year Award with his co-stars.

In addition to "Community," Pudi has worked across film, television, and animation. He starred as Brad Bakshi in the Apple TV+ comedy series "Mythic Quest" and voiced Huey Duck in the reboot of "DuckTales." He also lent his voice to the Paramount+ series "Golden Axe." Pudi has made cameo appearances in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Star Trek Beyond." He appeared with Alison Brie in the film "Somebody I Used to Know," co-written by Brie.

Pudi has also created original work inspired by his personal experiences. His first play, "Running," was developed for En Garde Arts' series Uncommon Voices and explores his relationship with his father, cultural identity, and experiences with racism. The play was later adapted into a short film directed by Arpita Mukherjee.
