Danielle Rodriguez

Danielle Rodriguez is a reproductive justice organizer, doula, and advocate whose work focuses on supporting marginalized communities across Georgia and beyond. As the Georgia coordinator at SisterSong, the National Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, Rodriguez leads coalition building and raises awareness about the intersections of economic justice, environmental justice, and reproductive justice. Rodriguez uses she and they pronouns.

Rodriguez began working as a doula after learning about maternal mortality and morbidity in the United States, particularly the disproportionate impact on Black pregnancies. Their advocacy emphasizes empowering Black individuals to understand their rights and self-advocate, contributing to safer outcomes. Rodriguez's organizing efforts also extend to migrant protection and LGBTQ+ liberation, reflecting a commitment to equity and inclusion within reproductive health and social justice movements.

Rodriguez created the SisterSong Queer, Trans, and Women Bailout Program, an initiative supporting Georgia's most marginalized communities by addressing systemic injustices in the criminal justice system. The program provides resources and support to those disproportionately affected. Rodriguez also led the "RJ the Vote" campaign, organizing an event that encouraged civic engagement and community empowerment during election periods.

Rodriguez has organized public actions, including a rally at Liberty Plaza outside the Georgia State Capitol as part of SisterSong's "Trust Black Women" initiative. They have spoken about the effects of Medicare and Medicaid cuts on Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, especially in rural areas. Rodriguez has collaborated with activists such as Forward Justice Action Network's Attica Scott to highlight connections between movements like Stop Cop City and reproductive justice. Their work and public speaking address civil rights, women's empowerment, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and social justice, contributing to ongoing conversations about equity and systemic change.
