Danielle Colby

Danielle Colby is an American television personality, burlesque entertainer, entrepreneur, and advocate recognized for her role on the History Channel reality series "American Pickers." Colby's involvement with the show began when Mike Wolfe invited her to join the "American Pickers" team as office manager. She became known for her expertise in antiques, vintage collectibles, and Americana, contributing to the show's ongoing success across hundreds of episodes and numerous seasons.

Colby's work on "American Pickers" has allowed her to merge her interests in history, antiques, and burlesque, assisting the team in discovering rare items such as vintage motorcycles, textiles, and clothing, with a particular focus on burlesque history. She has curated an extensive collection of vintage costumes, including circus and early burlesque pieces, and is dedicated to preserving the stories of performers who shaped the art of burlesque.

Prior to her television career, Colby owned and played on the roller derby team Big Mouth Mickies. Inspired by a burlesque performance in Chicago, she pursued burlesque dancing and later established the troupe Burlesque Le Moustache in Iowa, performing under the stage name Dannie Diesel. Colby also founded Dannie Diesel's Bump 'n' Grind Academy in Chicago, promoting body positivity and the cultural significance of burlesque.

Colby expanded into film production as executive producer of the documentary "Tempest Storm," which explores the life of a prominent burlesque dancer. She has also operated 4 Miles 2 Memphis, a retro clothing business. Colby has openly discussed personal health challenges, including undergoing a hysterectomy due to uterine fibroids, and continues to engage with audiences through her candid storytelling.

Throughout her career, Colby has advocated for animal welfare, LGBTQ+ rights, and women's empowerment. She has supported animal rescue organizations, contributed to rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico, and participated in initiatives addressing human trafficking and supporting survivors of harassment.
