Daniel Tannebaum

Daniel Tannebaum is a partner and global anti-financial crime practice leader at Oliver Wyman. He advises financial institutions on anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance, regulatory crisis management, and program transformation, working with clients in more than 30 countries across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Tannebaum provides guidance to banks, broker dealers, and money services businesses navigating complex regulatory environments.

Tannebaum is a regular commentator in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, and CNBC, and is a frequent speaker at global industry conferences and events. He is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council Economic Statecraft Initiative and serves on the board of Futures and Options, a nonprofit supporting youth career development in New York City. His public speaking and media presence focus on communicating financial crime and compliance issues to diverse audiences.

Tannebaum’s career includes senior roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and as chief compliance officer for the Americas at Travelex. He has received the FBI Director’s Certificate for Exceptional Service in the Public Interest and was appointed to the Indian Gaming Working Group, advising on regulatory matters for tribal gaming. He was personally sanctioned by the Russian Federation, reflecting his involvement in global financial crime policy.
