Daniel Murphy

Daniel Murphy is Senior Vice President of Marketing at Liquid Death, where he has helped turn the water brand into one of the most distinctive and culturally relevant names in beverages. Murphy joined Liquid Death in 2021 after a career spanning advertising, digital strategy, production and entrepreneurship.

Before Liquid Death, Murphy held senior leadership roles at Deutsch and worked with Google’s Creative Lab. He also co-founded VendorDB, a platform focused on connecting brands and creative vendors. He earned a B.S. in International Business from Marquette University and studied at the University of Southern Denmark.

At Liquid Death, Murphy has been central to an unconventional marketing philosophy that treats advertising more like entertainment than traditional brand promotion. He has helped build the company’s in-house marketing operation around speed, humor, irreverence and a willingness to take creative risks. Under his leadership, Liquid Death has developed campaigns and partnerships that extend well beyond beverage advertising, helping build a passionate fan community around the brand.

Murphy was named to Campaign US’s 2023 CMO 50, recognizing leading marketers and their impact on the industry. He is also a frequent speaker on modern marketing, creativity, comedy and brand-building.
