Daniel Farber Huang

Daniel Farber Huang is a strategist, author, and humanitarian with a career spanning cybersecurity consulting, investment banking, documentary photography, and public advocacy. Huang serves as a strategic advisor on risk management, corporate finance, and cybersecurity for a range of organizations, from entrepreneurial startups to multinational corporations. Earlier in his career, he worked for Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, advising corporations and investors on private capital funding opportunities and participating in capital raising engagements totaling more than $10 billion. He has collaborated with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies across the United States, providing mobile technology solutions, including hardware and software, to federal field agents, police, and other authorities.

Huang holds a master's degree in journalism from Harvard University, an MBA in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School, and a bachelor's degree in economics from New York University. He has worked with C-suite executives to assess personal security frameworks, focusing on protecting sensitive personal information, residences, and activities from public exposure. Huang also serves as an advisor to Princeton University's Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education, where he advises startup founders on business best practices. As a published author, his books include "Practical Cyber Security for Extremely Busy People," "Get Lost," "Nowhere to Hide," and "Personal Privacy for Professionals," which provide actionable cybersecurity and privacy guidance for both everyday readers and professionals.

Beyond consulting, Huang is a journalist and documentary photographer focused on women's and children's issues and poverty alleviation worldwide. He is a co-founder of "The Power of Faces," a portrait project raising awareness of the global refugee crisis. His documentary work has taken him to countries including the Republic of Vanuatu, Haiti, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, India, China, and Greece. His collaborative photographic work is included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the International Center of Photography, New York Historical Society, Museum of the City of New York, Museum of Chinese in America, New York City Fire Museum, and the Smithsonian.

Huang has exhibited his documentary photography at Amnesty International, the Middle East Institute, and leading universities. He has delivered three TEDx Talks and spoken at SXSW and other major venues. In one TEDx appearance, he and his collaborator shared an account of life in a refugee camp on Chios Island in Greece. Huang is a Fellow of the Explorers Club and the Royal Geographical Society, reflecting his commitment to exploration and humanitarian fieldwork.
