Dan Morehead

Dan Morehead is the founder and CEO of Pantera Capital, an investment firm specializing in digital currencies and blockchain technology. Morehead has led Pantera since its inception, transforming it into one of the first institutional investment firms to focus exclusively on Bitcoin and blockchain assets. Under his leadership, Pantera launched the first cryptocurrency fund in the United States and has managed billions in assets across passive, hedge, and venture strategies, establishing the firm as a cornerstone of the digital asset ecosystem.

Before founding Pantera Capital, Morehead held roles in the financial sector, including head of macro trading and CFO at Tiger Management, where he worked alongside Julian Robertson. His early career included trading mortgage-backed securities at Goldman Sachs and leading derivatives and FX trading units at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust. Morehead also co-founded Atriax, an electronic foreign exchange platform, demonstrating his expertise in financial innovation and global markets.
