Dan Hendrycks is an AI safety researcher and the director of the Center for AI Safety (CAIS), a nonprofit organization focused on mitigating the risks associated with advanced artificial intelligence. His work primarily explores AI alignment, robustness, and existential risks posed by rapidly developing AI systems.
Hendrycks has published extensively on topics related to AI safety, including interpretability, adversarial robustness, and risk assessment. He has been vocal about the potential dangers of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and has advocated for policies that ensure AI development remains beneficial to humanity.
Before founding CAIS, Hendrycks was a PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley, where he researched machine learning and AI safety. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Chicago.
