DJ Envy

RaaShaun Casey, known professionally as DJ Envy, is an American disc jockey, record producer, and radio personality recognized for his contributions to hip-hop media. A native of Queens, New York City, Casey was mentored by DJ Clue, who introduced him to the mixtape circuit. Starting out as a DJ on the mixtape scene, his tapes became highly sought after for exclusive freestyles and street singles from prominent New York artists. He graduated from Hampton University with a degree in business management, a credential he has cited as foundational to his entrepreneurial pursuits.

By the early 2000s, Casey was hosting commercials and exclusives for established artists including Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and The Lox. He signed with DJ Clue's record label Desert Storm and released his debut studio album, "The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1."

Casey began mixing for Hot 97's show "Takin' it to the Streets," hosted by Angie Martinez, and later co-hosted Hot 97's morning show with Miss Jones. He hosted his own midday show on Power 105 before joining Charlamagne tha God and Angela Yee as co-hosts of "The Breakfast Club." The show is now iHeart Media's nationally syndicated "The Breakfast Club," reaching an average of more than 4 million listeners in over 80 markets, including Power 105.1 in New York. The program features interviews with celebrities and hip-hop artists, entertainment news, music mixes, and a blend of candid conversation and humor.

At 17, Casey began his career in music and later became President and CEO of Blok Entertainment. He has worked as a DJ, producer, TV and radio personality, actor, and model. His television appearances include "106 & Park" and "Entourage," and he hosted "Tha Corner" on Music Choice. He also served as VJ for MTV2's "Sucker Free Countdown."

Casey is a three-time Justo Mixtape Award winner and has received the "Most Influential Radio DJ" honor at the Underground Music Awards. He has also been recognized as "National Mix Show DJ of the Year" and "DJ of the Year" at the Global Spin Awards. Alongside his "Breakfast Club" co-hosts, Casey was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. The Mayor of Atlantic City declared January 23 as "Breakfast Club Day," and Casey received a Key to the City for his efforts to promote Atlantic City.

Beyond radio, Casey is the founder and curator of the "Drive Your Dreams" Car Show, a multi-city auto exhibition that attracts car enthusiasts and celebrity vehicles nationwide. He released the single "Still A Fan" featuring Rico Love and co-authored the book "Real Life, Real Love: Life Lessons on Joy, Pain, and the Magic That Holds Us Together" with his wife, Gia Casey. He is also active in community initiatives, teaching generational wealth and providing paid opportunities for other DJs. Casey's career reflects his influence on hip-hop culture, radio broadcasting, and entrepreneurship.
