Crystal Fox

Crystal R. Fox is an actress and singer known for her work in television, film, and theater. Fox began her professional acting career on stage before transitioning to screen roles that brought her national recognition. She is the niece of Nina Simone and is widely recognized for her portrayal of Sgt. Luann Corbin on the television series "In the Heat of the Night." Fox joined the NBC police drama in its third season and remained a regular cast member through the series finale, appearing in more than 100 episodes.

Fox made her film debut as Katie Bell in the Academy Award-winning comedy-drama "Driving Miss Daisy," starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy. She continued to build her film career with supporting roles in "Drop Squad" and "Once Upon a Time...When We Were Colored," appearing alongside Phylicia Rashad and Al Freeman Jr. Fox's stage credits include "Everybody's Ruby" at the Public Theater in New York, "Gem of the Ocean" at Seattle Repertory Theatre, "For Colored Girls" at True Colors Theater Company in Atlanta, "The Amen Corner" at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, and "Fences" at the Huntington Theatre in Boston. Her performance in "Fences" earned her the Independent Reviewers of New England Award and the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Actress, Large Company.

Fox starred in the Oprah Winfrey Network prime time drama "The Haves and the Have Nots," produced by Tyler Perry, where she played Hanna Young, a single mother working as a maid for the Cryer family. Fox's performance in the series, which ran for 196 episodes, received critical attention.

Fox joined the cast of HBO's "Big Little Lies" for its second season, portraying Elizabeth Howard, the mother of Zoë Kravitz's character. Her work contributed to the series' critical success and earned the ensemble a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Fox also played the leading role in the thriller "A Fall from Grace" and appeared in the Apple TV+ comedy series "The Big Door Prize." She plays Alice Andrews in the Netflix thriller series "His & Hers." Fox's career encompasses drama, comedy, and stage performance, reflecting her versatility in the entertainment industry.
