Crystal Arlene Kuykendall

Dr. Crystal A. Kuykendall, born in Chicago, Illinois, has established herself as a formidable figure in education, law, and public speaking. Her journey began at Hyde Park High School, where she graduated at age 16 with four scholarships. She went on to earn a B.A. from Southern Illinois University, a Master's Degree in Sociology from Montclair State University, a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Atlanta University, and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.

Dr. Kuykendall's professional trajectory has included roles as an elementary and secondary school teacher, the Executive Director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators, and the Director of Urban & Minority Relations for the National School Boards Association. Additionally, she has served as the director of various educational and community organizations, evidencing her commitment to enhancing educational and societal frameworks.

In addition to her educational and organizational leadership, Dr. Kuykendall has made significant contributions through her writings. She is the author of influential works such as "From Rage to Hope: Strategies for Reclaiming Black and Hispanic Students," and "Improving Black Student Achievement through Improving Self Image." Her publications continue to serve as crucial resources in educational reform and community development.

A gifted public speaker, Dr. Kuykendall has addressed audiences on four continents, delivering over 100 speeches annually. Her presentations, which cover a range of critical social issues from educational success to conflict resolution, have made her a sought-after speaker in various sectors, including education and corporate environments. Currently, Dr. Kuykendall serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Henry C. Gregory III Family Life Center Foundation in Washington, DC, and is an adjunct faculty member at Strayer University.
