Courtney Marie Andrews

Courtney Marie Andrews is an American singer-songwriter known for her narrative-driven songwriting and contributions to Americana and folk music. Andrews began playing guitar and writing songs as a teenager, performing publicly by age 15. At 16, she embarked on her first tour along the West Coast, performing in various venues and public spaces, before traveling to the East Coast. Her debut album, "Urban Myths," was followed by "Painter's Hands and a Seventh Son."

Andrews was an auxiliary member of Jimmy Eat World, contributing to their album "Invented" and joining them as a keyboardist and backing vocalist on tour. After relocating to Seattle, she released "On My Page" and the EP "Leuven Letters," recorded live in the studio. A period spent in Belgium influenced her album "Honest Life," which received positive reviews from music critics in the United States and England and gained significant independent radio airplay.

"Honest Life" led to increased recognition, including an "International Artist of the Year" award at the UK Americana Music Awards. Her subsequent album, "May Your Kindness Remain," earned the "International Album of the Year" award and a nomination for "Emerging Artist of the Year" at the Americana Music Association's Honors and Awards. The album reached No. 1 on the Euro Americana Chart, UK Americana Albums Charts, and UK Independent Albums Breakers Charts. Andrews' album "Old Flowers" received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album.

During a hiatus from touring, Andrews wrote her first poetry collection, "Old Monarch." Her album "Loose Future," produced by Sam Evian, introduced new folk and pop elements to her discography. The album explores themes of freedom, renewal, and self-reflection.

Andrews' second poetry collection, "Love Is a Dog That Bites When It's Scared," expanded her work as a multidisciplinary artist in music, poetry, and visual art. Her tenth studio album, "Valentine," was recorded at Valentine Recording Studios in Los Angeles and explores themes of love, transformation, and emotional change. Throughout her career, Andrews has contributed to the evolution of American roots music, recognized for her songwriting and artistic versatility.
