
Corrado Maria Daclon is an Italian scientist, journalist, and academic whose career encompasses environmental policy, geopolitics, and international affairs at institutional levels. He obtained his first university professorship at the University of Camerino at age 27. Daclon has served as a professor of geopolitics at the Italian Society of International Organization (SIOI), where he was also co-director of master's programs. He has held professorships in environmental policy and geopolitics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and contributed editorially to periodicals covering international energy, environmental, and geopolitical issues.
Daclon began his advisory career at age 23 as foreign affairs counselor for the Minister of Environment, later serving as communications advisor for the Minister of Education, University and Research, and as assistant to the Vice President of the High Council of the Judiciary. He was appointed secretary of the European Commission NETT project (Network for Technology Transfer) and served as a consultant in the European Commission as a member of the international work group Team Europe in Brussels. Mandated by international organizations, Daclon conducted socio-economic studies of the war in the Balkans, completing more than 30 missions in Bosnia and Croatia, particularly in the Mostar and Sarajevo regions.
Since the late 1990s, Daclon has been a senior advisor and scientific partner of the NATO Committee on the Challenges of Modern Society, collaborating with international institutions and federal agencies such as the European Union, NASA, the United Nations, and the Council of Europe. He was a member of the UNEP Governing Council in Nairobi, contributing to the preparation of the Earth Summit of Rio de Janeiro, also known as the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development. For more than two decades, Daclon led Pro Natura, Italy's oldest environmental organization.
Daclon founded the Italy-USA Foundation, where he serves as secretary general. The foundation, attended at its inception by the Minister Counselor for Public Affairs of the United States Embassy, has developed into a prominent transatlantic think tank, including more than 120 figures from parliamentary, academic, journalistic, and diplomatic sectors, as well as Nobel Prize recipients. He is a columnist for the magazine Gnosis, published by the Italian Agency of Intelligence, and a blogger for the Huffington Post.
Daclon has published over 60 scientific articles and 16 books, several of which are used as university textbooks in Europe and the Mediterranean region. His works include the environmental treatise "Nuova politica per l'ambiente" and the geopolitical study "Scenari di geopolitica per il millennio." He has received international awards and recognitions, including the European Union Special Award and the Diploma Meritorium from European Commissioner Stanley Clinton Davis. Daclon's government and university service has taken him to more than 60 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, and South America, establishing him as a globally connected voice in environmental policy and geopolitics.
