Corey Hart

Corey Hart is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician whose career spans more than four decades in the pop music industry. Hart achieved international recognition with the hits "Sunglasses at Night" and "Never Surrender." He has sold more than 16 million records worldwide, recorded nine U.S. Billboard Top 40 hits, and in Canada, 30 of his recordings have reached the Top 40, including 11 in the Top 10.

Hart began his career by recording demos with members of Billy Joel's touring band at Kingdom Sound studio in Long Island. After initial challenges securing a Canadian record deal, Hart signed with Aquarius Records and recorded his debut album in England. "First Offense" gained momentum after "Sunglasses at Night" became a Top 10 hit in the United States. The album achieved gold status in the U.S. and triple platinum in Canada. His follow-up album, "Boy in the Box," featured the single "Never Surrender," which spent nine weeks at the top of the Canadian pop chart and earned a Juno Award for Best Selling Single. "Boy in the Box" achieved Diamond status certification in Canada.

Hart's third album, "Fields of Fire," included a number one Canadian hit with his cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love." Hart declined several high-profile opportunities, including a leading role in the film "Back to the Future" and the chance to perform "Danger Zone" for the film "Top Gun." In addition to his solo work, Hart has written and produced for other artists, including Julie Masse's album "Circle of One" and contributing to Celine Dion's album "Let's Talk About Love."

After a period away from the spotlight, Hart returned to perform at Montreal's Bell Centre Arena in a concert titled "One Night – Three Decades Of Music" and released his autobiography, "Chasing The Sun." He continued to perform across Canada and released new music, including the EP "Dreaming Time Again." Hart is an inductee of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame, and is a multiple Juno Award nominee and winner, including the Diamond Award for "Boy in the Box." He has also been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and recognized by ASCAP and SOCAN. Hart's career is marked by anthemic songwriting, pop music innovation, and a sustained influence on Canadian music.
