Coach Mike Jarvis

Mike Jarvis is a basketball coach known for his achievements at both the high school and collegiate levels. He led Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School to three consecutive state championships, compiling a record of 77-1 and mentoring future Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing. Over more than 25 years as a Division I head coach at Boston University, George Washington, St. John's, and Florida Atlantic, Jarvis guided his teams to 14 postseason tournaments, including appearances in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight, and amassed an overall head coaching record of 684-351. He is the only coach to win more than 100 games at the high school level and at three different universities, demonstrating his ability to build successful basketball programs.

Jarvis has received recognition such as National Coach of the Year from the Black Coaches Association and served as president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He is the author of three books—"Skills for Life," "Everybody Needs a Head Coach," and "The Seven C's of Leadership"—which address personal development, coaching, and leadership. These works, co-written with Jonathan Peck and Chad Bonham, provide practical insights for coaches, athletes, and leaders.

In addition to coaching, Jarvis has worked as a college basketball analyst for ESPN, Fox Sports, Yahoo Sports, and beIN Sports Network, offering commentary on NCAA basketball and coaching strategies. As an adjunct instructor at South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary and a member of the NABC Foundation Board, he continues to contribute to leadership development and basketball education. Jarvis is also a frequent speaker on topics such as resilience, teamwork, and leadership, drawing on his extensive experience in basketball coaching and sports media.
