Christopher Steiner is an engineer who has written on technology for dozens of publications including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, MIT Technology Press, USA Today, The Guardian, Playboy and others. He was a senior staff writer at the Chicago Tribune and then Forbes magazine before writing his second book, Automate This. Steiner has explained the creeping trend of automation to national audiences on Fox News, CNBC, NPR and on the Colbert Report, where Stephen Colbert compared algorithms to, naturally, chickens in Chinatown. He is an alumnus of the Silicon Valley technology accelerator Y Combinator, and his first company, Aisle50, which subscribed consumers to products at brick and mortar stores, was acquired by Groupon in February 2015. Steiner writes his words and code from Chicago, but he's always happy to be in Southern California in February.
