Christopher Harvin

Christopher Harvin is a strategic communications and government affairs leader with a career spanning more than 25 years and operations in more than 90 countries. Harvin serves as managing partner at GlobalPoint and senior international and corporate government affairs advisor at Becker & Poliakoff. Harvin's background in public service established his expertise in high-level communications and political strategy. He spent eight years as an advance representative in the George W. Bush White House and held senior public affairs and outreach advisory positions with the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries of Defense, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and members of Congress. Harvin has managed media operations during White House trips to the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His experience at the intersection of government, media, and international affairs has positioned him as an advisor to heads of state, corporations, and political campaigns.

Before founding GlobalPoint, Harvin co-founded Sanitas International, a global strategic communication, public affairs, digital media, and political advisory firm based in Washington, D.C., with offices in the Middle East. He has represented multiple heads of state and governments in emerging markets and developing countries, including the government of Trinidad and Tobago, the Government of Afghanistan, the Executive Office of Dubai, and the Dubai International Financial Centre. Harvin has provided strategies to political and advocacy campaigns both nationally and internationally, including four presidential campaigns, numerous Senate and Congressional campaigns, corporate advocacy campaigns, and foreign heads of state.

Harvin's entrepreneurial ventures have received industry recognition. He was named one of the top public relations practitioners under 40 by PRWeek. In addition to recognition by the Inc. 500, his company, partners, and employees have been acknowledged by SmartCEO Fastest 50, PRWeek 40 Under 40, SmartCEO GOV Star, and PRSA Toth Awards. He has also received the Trailblazers award from the American Association of Political Consultants. Harvin serves as a board member and adviser to the Washington Inter-Governmental Professional Group, a D.C.-based organization with more than 3,000 members from the private sector, diplomatic community, and staff from Congress and federal agencies.

Harvin is active as a public intellectual and thought leader in international affairs, crisis management, strategic communications, national defense and security, and political campaign management. He has been quoted in top-tier publications worldwide and regularly provides expert media commentary on these topics. Harvin presented as a panel expert on the influence of social media in the Middle East at SXSW during the presentation "I Overthrew My Government: Now What?" He also co-founded Vanguard Africa, a nonprofit known for its democratization support work in The Gambia and for representing candidates in other African countries while providing campaign consulting.
