Christina Lam

Christina Lam is a motorsport competitor who has established a career in professional racing through determination and self-motivation. Unlike many racers, Lam does not come from a racing family; her interest in motorsports began in her early twenties, leading her to autocross and track days.

After participating in local autocross events and advancing to the National Auto Sport Association's track days, Lam made her official debut in a Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) race. She is an electrical engineering graduate from the University of Maryland and works for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, supporting national security.

Throughout her motorsports career, Lam has competed in the BMW CCA Club Race series, SCCA Majors, and has driven TC, TCA, GT4, and GT3 race cars. She joined Hi-Speed Motorsports, campaigned her M3 in GTS2, and finished runner-up in the championship, earning a podium at NASA Nationals in her rookie year. Lam raced for four years in the SCCA's Super Tour class before advancing to higher levels of competition.

A two-time finalist for the IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship, Lam has experience in North American grassroots touring car series, including the SCCA National Championship, SCCA Hoosier Super Tour, and American Endurance Racing. Her milestone moment came when she raced an Audi RS3 LMS TCR at Daytona International Speedway in IMSA's Michelin Pilot Challenge, becoming the first Asian American woman to compete in IMSA. Sharing the car with Alex and Eric Rockwell, Lam qualified the car and drove the opening segment of the four-hour race, moving into the top 10 in the TCR class despite technical challenges.

Lam later competed in the full Trans Am National Championship, further developing her road racing experience after transitioning from the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge's TCR class. She achieved her first podium in the Trans Am Series at Sonoma Raceway and followed it with a second podium in the doubleheader, marking significant progress in her rookie TA2 Pro/Am campaign.

Off the track, Lam co-founded Hi-Speed Motorsports, where she manages race team logistics, builds race cars, and coaches drivers. She also serves as a stunt driver for MotorTrend, a Time Trial Director for NASA Northeast, and an instructor for Skip Barber Racing School. Lam has contributed articles to Grassroots Motorsports Magazine in both print and online formats.

Lam is active in supporting women in motorsport, including aspiring engineers, by helping connect them with teams and opportunities. In collaboration with the National Center for Women's Innovations, she organized an initiative that provided the University of Florida's Formula SAE team with behind-the-scenes access at Daytona International Speedway. Lam's journey from newcomer to professional racer and advocate highlights her presence in the motorsports industry both on and off the circuit.
