Christian Brose

Christian Brose is a leading American defense strategist, author, and technology executive whose work bridges government policy, national security, and cutting‑edge defense innovation. He currently serves as President and Chief Strategy Officer of Anduril Industries, a venture‑backed defense technology company focused on autonomous systems, artificial intelligence‑enhanced defense platforms, and next‑generation military capabilities. Brose joined Anduril in 2018 and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s corporate strategy, business development, government relations, and international expansion, reflecting his deep expertise in defense policy and strategic innovation.

Before his transition to the private sector, Brose had a distinguished career in public service. From 2014 to 2018, he served as Staff Director of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he led the professional staff supporting Chairman John McCain and other members in overseeing the national defense budget, programs, and policies across the Departments of Defense and Energy. During that period, Brose played a key role in the development, negotiation, and passage of four National Defense Authorization Acts that authorized funding and policy for U.S. defense activities. Prior to that, he was senior policy adviser to Senator McCain on national security, foreign policy, intelligence, and trade issues, and earlier in his career he served as policy adviser and chief speechwriter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and as a speechwriter for Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Brose is also the author of “The Kill Chain: Defending America in the Future of High‑Tech Warfare,” a widely respected examination of how emerging technologies are reshaping national security and military strategy. He is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group and has been a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he continues to explore ideas at the intersection of defense innovation and public policy. In 2025, under his leadership, Anduril announced accelerated plans to expand advanced manufacturing capacity internationally, including discussions on defense industrial collaboration in Japan and expanded autonomous systems production. Brose remains an active voice in debates on defense modernization, procurement reform, and the strategic role of autonomous technologies in future warfare.
