Chi McBride

Chi McBride is an actor known for his work in television and film, particularly in the genres of drama, comedy, and crime series. Born Kenneth McBride in Chicago, Illinois, McBride adopted his stage name from his hometown's nickname. He began his career in entertainment after initially pursuing music, studying several instruments and performing with gospel choirs. His entry into show business followed the success of the song "He's the Champ," a parody about the marriage of boxer Mike Tyson and actress Robin Givens.

After several guest appearances on television, McBride secured his first significant role as Heavy Gene on "The John Larroquette Show" on NBC.
