Chet Holmgren

Chet Holmgren is a 7-foot-1 center/power forward for the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Oklahoma City Thunder, renowned for his unique blend of size, skill, and defensive prowess. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Holmgren emerged as a top prospect during his high school years. His exceptional shot-blocking ability and perimeter skills earned him national recognition and the title of National High School Player of the Year in 2021.

Holmgren played one collegiate season at Gonzaga University (2021–22), where he averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game. His standout performances earned him multiple honors, including WCC Defensive Player of the Year and consensus second-team All-American. Notably, in his college debut, he recorded 14 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocks, and six assists, becoming the first player in 25 years to achieve such a stat line in their debut.

Selected second overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Thunder, Holmgren's professional debut was delayed due to a Lisfranc injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022–23 season. He made his NBA debut in the 2023–24 season, quickly establishing himself as a defensive anchor and versatile scorer. In his rookie season, he averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

During the 2024–25 season, Holmgren continued to be a pivotal player for the Thunder, contributing to the team's league-best 68–14 record and their run to the NBA Finals. His averages of 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game underscored his consistent impact on both ends of the floor. In 2025, the Thunder won the NBA Finals in Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers.
