Charlotte Nicdao

Charlotte Nicdao is an Australian actress and composer whose career encompasses television, film, voice acting, and music. Nicdao attended Victorian College of Arts, where she studied jazz and classical music, beginning her training as a jazz singer at age 15. Influenced by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Keith Jarrett, she developed a passion for performance that led her to pursue acting.

Nicdao gained recognition for her role as Jackie in "A gURLs wURLd." The series filmed in Sydney, Singapore, and Hamburg, prompting Nicdao to complete her final year of high school through distance education. She expanded her presence in Australian television with roles including Jenny in the second season of "Please Like Me." Nicdao also appeared in the short film "Emo," directed by Neil Tiffett, which received a special mention at Berlinale International Film Festival. When the short was adapted into the feature film "Emo: The Musical," she was credited as an associate producer.

Her international work includes roles such as Rachel Osaka in the Syfy miniseries "Childhood's End," Grace in the NBCUniversal series "Camp," and an appearance in "Thor: Ragnarok." Nicdao starred as Lucy in "Content," a made-for-phone online video series, which was the first scripted comedy presented in a vertical video format and received an International Emmy Award nomination.

Nicdao stars as Poppy in "Mythic Quest," portraying the game's lead engineer. Her performance earned nominations for an OFTA Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and a TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy. Nicdao has spoken about the evolution of roles available to her, noting the shift toward more complex and central characters for women of diverse backgrounds.

In addition to acting, Nicdao has directed episodes of "Mythic Quest" and voiced characters in "Bluey," "Adventure Time: Distant Lands," "Zootopia+," "Star Trek: Lower Decks," and "Solar Opposites." She is also the founder of the indie pop band Charlotte Nicdao and the Sloth Orchestra. Nicdao's work spans the Australian and international entertainment industries, highlighting her versatility in acting, music, and voice performance.
