Chad Janis

Chad Janis is a former private equity investor and entrepreneur in the consumer packaged goods industry. Before founding Grüns, Janis worked at Summit Partners, where he invested in and served on the boards of several fast-growing consumer brands, deploying $1.4 billion across companies such as Dr. Squatch, Brooklinen, Ruggable, Chubbies, and Thuma. After his tenure as an investor, Janis attended Stanford Graduate School of Business and co-founded Influenceli, which was later acquired by FERMÀT.

The concept for Grüns originated from Janis's personal experience with nutritional supplements. Frustrated by the taste and inconvenience of traditional powdered greens drinks, he identified a market need for a more accessible and enjoyable supplement. This led to the creation of Grüns, a brand of nutritional gummies formulated with fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, and adaptogens. The gummies are designed to support gut health, immunity, energy metabolism, cognitive function, and recovery.

Grüns expanded its product line to include offerings such as "Grüns Kids" for children, "Nütrops" for cognitive support, "Immün" for immune system support, and "Jüced" for energy support. The brand has gained traction among a diverse customer base, including parents, wellness enthusiasts, and fitness consumers, and has shipped millions of gummies daily through Amazon and retail channels in the United States.

The company achieved significant growth, reaching hundreds of millions in annual recurring revenue and attracting investors such as Joe Burrow, Shaun White, and Anna Kendrick. Grüns was acquired by Unilever in a transaction valued at over $1 billion. Janis's transition from investor to founder highlights his expertise in identifying and scaling consumer health and wellness brands.
