Ceara O'Sullivan

Ceara O'Sullivan is a writer, comedian, and character performer best known for her work on Saturday Night Live. She joined SNL’s writing staff in 2022 and has contributed to subsequent seasons.

A versatile talent raised in Syracuse, New York, O'Sullivan honed her comedy chops through improv and sketch work — she is an alum of the main-stage cast at Improv Asylum as well as of ImprovBoston.

Beyond sketch writing, she’s also built a strong presence as a comedian and performer: in 2022 she was part of the “New Faces” showcase at Just for Laughs, highlighting rising stand-up and sketch talent.

Off-screen she co-hosts a comedy podcast, Petty Crimes, which gained recognition as one of the top podcasts of 2023.

Her contributions at SNL have garnered industry recognition: she’s been nominated multiple times for major awards for writing on the show (including for a prime-time Emmy) and was part of the writing team that earned a Creative Arts Emmy.

Outside of the writers’ room, O'Sullivan remains active on stage and in live comedy: she tours with a live show and performs in improv events with SNL colleagues, showcasing her commitment to both written comedy and performance.
