Cathy Li

Cathy Li is head of the Centre for AI Excellence and a member of the executive committee at the World Economic Forum, where she leads the organization’s global work on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. In this role, Li advances efforts to shape responsible, innovative approaches to AI, including overseeing the AI Global Alliance (AIGA), a flagship initiative that brings together leaders from business, government, academia and civil society to prepare countries and societies for the intelligent era and promote frameworks and practices for the responsible development and deployment of AI at scale.

Li joined the World Economic Forum in 2018 and previously served as head of AI, Data and Metaverse, helping drive the Forum’s digital transformation agenda and positioning it as a trusted platform for technology governance.

Before her work at the Forum, Li was a partner at GroupM, the media investment arm of WPP, where she held senior roles in digital strategy, data and analytics, and financial communications across London, New York and Beijing.

She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a frequent speaker and contributor on AI governance, innovation and inclusive technology development in global forums and media.
